Hannah:
There is nothing more exciting than pulling a new dish out of the oven–the scent of baked goods filling the air–and watching your family and friends enjoy what you have made for them.
I did not realize I liked baking so much until just a couple of years ago. I got my love of baking from my grandmother. I would be so excited to visit her, getting to learn her recipes and spend time with her in the kitchen. I inherited many of her recipes over the years. She can spend the entire day in her kitchen baking for her grandchildren and be so joyful. I have already been given that joy, and I hope one day I will be able to do the same for my children and grandchildren, passing down the same recipes.
This passion for baking grew to starting my own business with my friend. Sweets and Such Bakery was a huge success. I got to bake and sell each weekend at the Canyon Farmers Market. I absolutely loved seeing my customers and hearing their feedback. I tried many new recipes, and I even made my own recipe book to hold the ones I treasured. Before I knew it, my little stress-relieving hobby became a business, a successful way to earn money. My treats were being enjoyed by people all around Canyon, and I was so excited.
After high school, I plan on going to college to get a degree in elementary education. However, I also want to minor in business. I want to have that in my back pocket because, one day, I dream of opening my own bakery. I want to share my desserts with everyone, and I never want to stop baking.
I am not the only one working hard to ensure our customers are happy. I have a lot of help from close friends and family. Read on to learn a little bit about them!
Lilly: Lilly was essential in the creation of the business. She was beside me every step of the way and helped me form the business, as well as work each weekend the summer of 2020.
Hello, my name is Lilly, and I am excited to work with Hannah at the Canyon Farmer's Market for the second year in a row. Watching the business grow and become a success has been exciting, and I can't wait to see what the future holds. I love baking and seeing so many people at our booth on Saturday mornings. I hope to see you this summer!
Ryanne: Aloha, my name is Ryanne. I love to bake all sorts of things for my family and friends. I think baking brings people together for food and fun times. Experimenting with baking is my specialty, and I love to try new things. When I am not baking, I am one of the captains of the color guard at the high school and I am currently working on my gardening skills, growing flowers, fruits and vegetables. I am excited to be working with my lovely friend Hannah at Sweets and Such Bakery.
